The last three years have been a very hard time for Music. Black music especially. We have lost legends. People who almost single-handedly changed the tide of music and were the soundtrack of at least 3-4 generations.
These are just a few names: Michael Jackson, Etta James, Don Cornelius, Lena Horne, Gil Scot-Heron, Guru, Teddy Pendergrass, Teena Marie, Vesta Williams, Heavy D, DJ Roc Raida, Nate Dogg, and just last week, Whitney Houston.
I know I’m forgetting others, surely some just as influential, but these are people who made a significant impact on music. They were inspirations to many, and brought memories to people across the world. They are irreplaceable…
